My advice to all newlyweds: If you want to escape nyc, brooklyn ,queens, bronx, go and check out Montclair (NJ)
Ok so i have finally decided to take my newlwyed wife and her brother with his wife to Montclair (population is approximately 32000.
Median house pricing in Montclair is $670,400, it is very pricy but we went there not for houses but for condos (2 bedroom around 340000 which is better than brooklyn 425000).
This was our first trip to see how people live there. This is a very important part for me and my wife: we don't want to live in a boring dull very quite town, we would prefer something in a middle abit of noise(parties, gatherings in the heart of the town) and quite neighbourhood to live in.
My first impressions are:
looks like european town a lot (small streets in the heart of the city, with european architectural elements. And believe me i'm not the kida person to notice that usually, but this was amazing.
lots of restaurants with different types of cuisines (cuban, japanese, thai, russian, lots of italian places
town really lives its life there is bunch of gatherings, fests and fireworks, with special events from nyc etc
i have attached some of the pictures take a look, our next step will be to go deeper into real estate with different realtors to find out more about this town. will keep you posted.
